One Year After Pop Smoke Died

Do not look for commonalities, although there may be some, beyond a sad calendar coincidence. More than a rising figure in US rap, prince of the Brooklyn drill, Pop Smoke died, murdered, a year ago. Charles Trenet, a crazy singer, inscribed at the top of the heritage of the French song, went away twenty years ago.

One year to the day, Pop Smoke, 20, was murdered in a robbery that went wrong. Two men reportedly entered his home in Los Angeles and shot him several times at about 4:30 in the morning.

The one who, in record time, had been proclaimed Prince of Brooklyn Drill, had before him a boulevard. His real name, Bashar Jackson "was a rough diamond, he just wanted to shine"... he said in "Better have your gun".
