Local reports have stated that Moon Bin, who was a singer, songwriter, actor, and model, was found dead in his Seoul apartment by a manager who immediately contacted the police. On April 19th, ASTRO's agency, Fantagio, confirmed his passing and released a statement about his funeral plans. The statement, released in Korean, conveyed that Moon Bin's bandmates, label mates, and company staff are in mourning. Helix Publicity, a U.S.-headquartered company that represented Moonbin&Sanha, also shared a statement on social media expressing their deep condolences and sympathies.
According to Fantagio, Moon Bin's family has requested a quiet funeral with only family, friends, and company colleagues in attendance. Moon Sua, Moon Bin's younger sister, is also a member of the K-pop industry and is part of the girl group Billlie.
In December 2022, Moon Bin renewed his contract with Fantagio, along with four other ASTRO members. In January, he released his third EP, Incense, under the Moonbin&Sanha duo alongside ASTRO bandmate Yoon San-ha. Moonbin&Sanha were in the middle of their Diffusion Fan Con Tour, which started in Seoul in February and was scheduled to visit various Asian cities until May. On April 16, the duo also launched an official fan community page on Weverse, a global fandom platform developed by HYBE.
