Just days after celebrating International Women's Day, Billboard honored women in the music industry at its annual Women in Music event, which was filled with surprises.
The most influential women in the music industry were honored on the YouTube stage at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. In the presence of many stars, SZA was named Billboard's Woman of the Year.
Becky G was awarded the Impact Award, while Lana Del Rey received the Vision Award for her career, which began 14 years ago. Olivia Rodrigo, who wore a brown leather crop top with beige pants featuring a horse print on one leg, presented the award to Lana and told her from the stage how much she loved her before accepting her own award.
Lana, who wore a medium-length, sheer and embroidered yellow dress, expressed her happiness at receiving the award, saying: "To my fans, I don't have a long-term vision, but if you're wondering, I'm very happy."
The award will motivate Twice to break more barriers
Twice was one of the most honored artists at the Billboard Women in Music Awards ceremony, and the group's name trended on Twitter. The group delivered an outstanding performance of their English-language song "Moonlight Sunrise," which was released in January as part of their upcoming album, "Ready to Be."
Dressed in matching black outfits, the members of Twice appeared on stage to perform the song, with some wearing pants and others wearing skirts. The group then received the Breakthrough Award.
