Jisoo from Blackpink Breaks Pre-Order Record for Her Debut Album

Fans of Jisoo from the Korean group Blackpink have translated a statement in which they cannot wait any longer for her first solo album, literally.

Jisoo's fans rushed to get copies of her first album "Me," which is scheduled to be released on March 31st, through pre-orders that exceeded one million requests and reached about 1.24 million copies.

By surpassing one million copies, Jisoo was able to break the record for the first female artist in the history of Korean pop music, joining the list of both Adele and Taylor Swift.

Pre-orders for Jisoo's album expected to increase

The album, which is supposed to be released on Friday of this week, has recorded only 510,000 pre-orders in the last two days, compared to about 950,000 pre-orders in the past two weeks, according to YG Entertainment agency.

It is expected that this number will increase further in the remaining days before the album's release. The agency shared a press statement about the pre-orders stating that "purchases were not limited to Korea, but also extended to North America, Europe, China, Japan, Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world."

Jisoo shared a series of posters for her upcoming album on her social media accounts, and also revealed the tracklist for her first solo album "Me" with Blackpink's account and YG agency. The titles of two songs were mentioned, "Flower" and "All Eyes on Me." Jisoo appeared in the poster removing a red transparent curtain with her hand.
