BTS' Jimin Announces Debut Solo Album 'FACE' and Release Date
On Tuesday, February 21st, Jimin of BTS revealed information about his highly anticipated debut solo album, titled "FACE". The album is scheduled for release on March 24th. Along with the announcement, a 35-second video was released featuring ambient music and mesmerizing water droplets creating ripples on the surface of water that ultimately form the title of the album.
In a Weverse post that provided further details, Jimin's upcoming solo project is described as an introspective exploration of himself as he prepares for his next chapter as a solo artist. The pre-order period for the album begins on Wednesday, February 22nd, at 9 p.m. ET. Currently, no tracklist or lead single has been announced.
Jimin's first full-length solo album comes on the heels of his recent hit single, "Vibe," with K-pop artist TAEYANG from BIG BANG. The track gave both artists their first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100. Previously, Jimin has released solo tracks, including "Lie," "Serendipity," and the song "With You" from the soundtrack of the TvN drama, Our Blues.
This announcement is just the latest in a series of solo ventures from the K-pop sensations. J-Hope has released his album/documentary, Jack in the Box, Suga has revealed the dates for his inaugural solo tour, RM has launched his debut album, Indigo, Jin has collaborated with Coldplay on the single "The Astronaut," Jung Kook teamed up with Charlie Puth on the track "Left and Right" in the summer of 2022, and later released "Dreamers," while V starred in the reality show In the Soop: Friendcation.
