Pink Floyd fans mock criticism of 'woke' Dark Side Of The Moon logo
Pink Floyd fans have spoken out against those who have misinterpreted the
band's iconic "Dark Side of the Moon" logo as a symbol of the "woke" LGBTQ+
movement.
This week, the band announced a special 50th anniversary reissue of their
album, which features a prism refracting light to create the colors of the
rainbow. To promote the new release, the band updated their Facebook profile
picture with the prism and the number 50 inside it, with the colors of the
rainbow inside the "0." However, some fans took this as a political
statement and expressed their frustration and disappointment. Other fans,
however, defended the band and pointed out that the rainbow has always been
a part of the album's artwork.
The 50th anniversary reissue of Pink Floyd's iconic "Dark Side of the Moon"
album will be released on March 24th, just days after the anniversary of its
original UK release on March 16, 1973. The box set will include a newly
remastered version of the original album on CD and gatefold vinyl, as well
as Blu-Ray and DVD audio featuring the original 5.1 mix and remastered
stereo versions.
The set also includes another Blu-Ray disc of the Atmos mix, plus a CD and
LP of "The Dark Side of the Moon - Live at Wembley Empire Pool, London,
1974." This live recording will also be available independently on CD and
vinyl on the same day as the box set, marking the first time it has been
released as a standalone album. A book titled "Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of
the Moon: 50th Anniversary" will also be released on March 24th, featuring
rare and previously unseen photos taken during the "Dark Side of the Moon"
tours between 1972 and 1975.
